Hey all!
Hey Suresh! Thanks for the invitation. We meet in cycles, and waxes and
wains of the tide. And, as the tide moves out and the sand bears walking
upon, we meet at the shore once again.
As a newcomer here, perhaps I dive a bit deep… (but I was raise in
Huntington Beach, a surfer town, and accustomed to hitting the waves hard)
so….this is what i am moved to say….
At this great turn, we as change agents move with deep hope and excitement,
moved by what we innately know as humans to be so, that we can and must step
up into a new way to work together. Our thoughts are not new, and our
yearning is as old as our ancestors – we want to live.
We want to eat, be safe, sleep in a dry shelter. We want dignity and
respect. We want to belong in the deep knowing that we serve a larger whole.
This is the call, the call behind alleviating poverty, a call that we hear
in the gap between life and death, a call felt with urgency, as we feel our
collective suffering.
We open, yes, opening not just of ideas or doors or social software. We open
to practice presence with all that moves. We open to soften the hardness of
our holding. We open to connect. When we shift our frame of reference from
Open to Connect, we shift from an object-orientation in design – opening of
and between things – to a relational-orientation in design thinking. This
shifts business models and organizational culture.
There are three offerings I would like to invite you to:
1. joining Dreamfish – a co-owned work cooperative, we are building
sustainable work for all through human ways of working together. Individual
entrepreneurs hire and are hired by one another on projects, manage and
learn together. We embrace both cash and alternative currencies. The
business model and funding model are proving out well. Project matching and
blended value is facilitated through strong human process, blended with
light technology support. As a life-long learner, I would be honored to play
