This blog is the home of the Nomic game that is being played at ParticipationCamp.
Nomic is a really crazy game that was invented by Peter Suber. The interesting thing about Nomic is that players change the rules as they go. It’s kind of like democracy, which is why we’re playing it at PCamp. Here’s the Wikipedia article on Nomic if you want to learn more.
Most of games of Nomic are really complex and intense. For PCamp, we’re trying to loosen it up and simplify it. In particular, we want to make it possible to drop in and out of the game as you please. Our current initial ruleset is based on this suggestion from metafilter.
Right now, we’re playing a warmup game. We’ll use this round to get the details sorted for the game that we’ll play during the actual conference. Wanna get started? Read the rules.
